The Gordon Finest Race will take place on the Zolder track on April 10-11. This 150’ race is also the kickoff of the new Belcar Endurance Championship 2010. The Belgian Touring Car Series will race within the same weekend. Wim Meulders and Bruno Vermeeren are very confident after the shakedown last week.
Bruno: “The shakedown with the Porsche was great! Wim knows the car very well and handed over once he and the engineers had adjusted the car. Afterwards I drove for about 1h40 and I have to admit I was very impressed by this Porsche. You have to be very concentrated and keep the engine high in the rev band for maximum power output. My first laps were slow but I improved lap by lap. I’m eager to start my first race with this beautiful car and we hope to conquer a good result!”
Wim: “Once the car adjusted, I handed over to Bruno. It was very important for him to get confidence in the car. We hope to manage the best possible result and we will also use this race to coach Bruno.”
Emil: “We decided to enter the VW Golf II in the BTCS championship. I’ll be able to drive all races without the need of a second driver except for the Spa 12 Hours. Unfortunately I’ll not be able to take part in the first meeting.”
A Renault Clio III will also be entered in the BTCS championship during this meeting for Luc Gabriël.
