07 februari 2010Belcar : 2010, off to a new start!

Paradox: we’re back to a former name that refers to a competition for which 2010 is synonymous with a new start.
Rest assured, the full regulations will be published shortly on this site as also that of the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB). However the salient points were made known several weeks ago, and we have perfectly amalgamated the former Belgian GT Championship with the DSMEC.
More than ever the GT3s will be the focal point and according to the latest news we should we be in for some splendid battles between the leading lights in the category. The new Team W has confirmed the entry of two Audi R8 LMS to be manned by Anthony Kumpen-Greg Franchi on the one hand and François Verbist-Bert Longin on the other.  Aston Martin retaliates with an DBRS9, to be driven by Tim Verbergt-Eddy Renard, and major plans are afoot in the Dodge and Ferrari ranks; all in all great entertainment awaits us.
In addition to GT3, several other categories will be contributing to the entertainment of these six rounds of the Belcar 2010: amongst others we are expecting the entry of several GT4s as also various GT Open ex-DSMEC for which a reference time will be foreseen. But let us not forget the saloon cars entered in the touring category and also competing in these meetings, as also in the 24 Hours of Zolder, the latter not counting for the championship.
To summarise, the rebirth of the Belcar presents itself under highly favourable auspices.
