18 oktober 2008Pole position for the Moslers of Kumpen and Radermecker

Tomorrow both Gravity International Racing Moslers will be starting from pole for the last race of the Belgian GT Championship Mediagroep Van Dyck, being held during the FIA GT meeting.

Shortly after midday Anthony Kumpen at the wheel of his Mosler clinched pole position ahead of the sister car of Ron Marchal. “We want to finish off the season on a high note, in the same way that we started it off”, Kumpen, the Limburg based driver smiled. “It goes without saying that races of one hour here in Zolder really suit us..”
Behind the two Moslers the battle for third place was heated. It finally fell to the Francorchamps Motors-Delahaye Ferrari 430 GT3 of Damien Coens who set an excellent time of 1.33.657 amongst the best of the rest.
“I wasn’t really satisfied until I managed to clock up my best time ever in the Ferrari”, a beaming Damien Coens commented. “Zolder holds no secrets for me...”

Next to Coens we have the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup S of NGT. Bart Couwbergs and Ruben Maes will have the heavy job of defending NGT’s leader’s position in the team rankings. What about GPR? Franchi finished seventh, a mere three tenths of a second behind the Ferrari of Coens, his immediate rival in the driver’s title. Henk Haane in his Lamborghini drove to a fifth place, ahead De Keersmaecker in the Mosler. Koen Wauters and Meno Kuus defended the honour of Dodge with respectively an eighth and ninth place.

Somewhat later it was the turn of Vincent Radermecker to slot a Mosler on to pole position. However for the second race of the day the front row of the grid will not be made up of full ‘Mosler’ colours. Fred Bouvy, with the same rhythm and determination as his team mate, will be on the front row next to Mosler.
“We’re not going to play a calculation game, but go out there and drive as fast as possible not only to win the drivers title, but grab the team title also”, Bouvy commented after the session. He stayed ahead of the Viper of Jeffrey Van Hooydonk, who was experiencing problems with the gear lever, and Maxime Soulet who pushed the GPR Porsche to the limit.
Two Moslers are on the third row, with Guino Kenis who was just faster than Bert Longin. Vincent Vosse, in the Sport Garage Ferrari is in seventh place, ahead of Ruben Maes who only took to the track late in the session.

In Division 3 best times were set by Niels Lagrange and Pascal Nelissen Grade, whilst Olivier Van Oost and Eric Jonckeere did the same in the Division 2.
